…irregular. (No, not that kind of irregular!) This is an irregular post, because it has been quite a while since I posted last, and I have no way of tying these things together. But I thought I’d just toss out here what we’ve been up to lately.
I had a birthday. I’m 36, and this is the first year where I actually feel like my age is old. I don’t feel old, but the number 36 doesn’t sound quite as youthful as 35 did.
I baked myself a cake.
Chocolate, with cream cheese frosting.
I received some wonderful gifts; fresh sunflowers from my brother and SIL,
and a Meyer lemon tree from my mom and dad (how cool is that?).
We went fishing at my favorite neighbor’s dock. Both AJ and DJ caught several little bream and bass,
while I splashed my feet in the lake.
It’s a terrible photo, but I’ve been reading. I’m off the processed foods, effective immediately. (We didn’t eat much of them to begin with, but there’s still room for improvement.)
DJ developed his first loose tooth (which may have already been loose, or may have been knocked loose, but I wasn’t present and I have yet to get a believable story out of him), so I made him a tooth fairy pillow.
We played at the playground.
I sewed a dress. This is “Miss Molly” by Samantha of The Handmade Dress.
The fabric reminds me of bed sheets from the 70s, but I like it.
Mostly, we’ve just been enjoying the summer. I hope you’re doing the same!
